Sunny Blue was born in the Thames Delta.
I first became interested in music as a boy when my Dad and I would listen to his records.
The first live band I saw was Steppenwolf.
I’ve always loved all kinds of music but “The Blues” hit me big time when I first heard “Juicy Lucy” – “Who do you love” and then “The Allman Brothers” – “Statesboro Blues”.
When I was in my teens, I dabbled at being a mobile D.J. in my first car, imagine it, me, all my equipment and 45’s in a Mini?! My biggest Gigs at that time were in The Student Union Hall at Reading University. (I didn’t stay in formal education long enough myself to attend a University) – I preferred “life education”.
My work took me all over the UK so I was fortunate to see many legendary live artists between 1972 up until Lanzarote beckoned me in 2014. It would be easier to mention the Artists I have not seen live, than the thousands which I have been lucky enough to see and, in many cases, meet. Since living here, I have regularly traveled to the UK and the other Canary Islands for live music.
I have been presenting The Monster Blues Show since July 2016. This is broadcast on Tuesdays 7 – 10 pm. Although the Monster Blues Show has never been a request show, I do get a tremendous amount of feedback from the listeners in general and also more and more from the artists that I play. I am thrilled with the amount of new music I receive from them.
I resumed presenting the Friday Drivetime Show a year ago – Lets Rock into the weekend 5 – 7 pm. On this show, I try to play a mixture of Rock and Rock & Roll and I am happy to include any requests in these genres.
Bottom line is that you can be sure that as long as he has a breath in his body – “Sunny Blue” will “Keep on Rockin”
