Steve Wells

Steve Wells was born in Barking, Essex in 1950, and throughout the ’60s and 70’s I worked as a mobile disco DJ, with traditional twin decks, playing only vinyl at weddings, anniversaries, birthdays.  I was also the resident DJ in a pub in Upminster, Essex and this era is where the passion for music grew… I love Chart music of all eras, but my weakness is Tamla Motown.
During my life, I have been privileged to have seen hundreds of concerts including early Madonna in Florida, Live Aid in 1985, and even Wham’s final concert at Wembley Stadium.
Entering the world of retail in 1974 bought an end to the DJ life due to the long hours worked in the shop but I never lost his passion for music and on a visit to Lanzarote in early 2018 I spotted an ad for part-time presenters on Monster Radio. Fortunately, the Lunchtime Show became available during my training and after filling in for a few weeks I was offered the show on a permanent basis.
Accepting this was a life-changing decision, as having recently retired from the retail market, it enabled me the opportunity to move to Lanzarote permanently.
