Whilst I have Spanish blood coursing through my veins, I was born and bred in Saaarrrf London…
Fortune and a very cheap flight (dressed in safari jacket and armed with an English teacher’s dictionary) brought me to the island for nigh on two decades, …working as a TEFL teacher teaching children and adults of all ages and gathering a wife and child along the way… When not imparting the Queen’s English, I have been involved in quite a few music projects over the years… …as well as working in a second hand record shop Ratt Records in Greenwich (sarf east london) six days a week but that’s a different story…
Fast forward …here on the island …I have strummed a mean guitar with The Rubarboos, Dr. Ye Ye, and as part of an acoustic duo with Mellany Morales, recording and gigging at various festivals and events…
I also had a period of going by the name of “Dr. Love” with regular DJ spots at the TSUNAMI in Arrecife playing a mix of classic rock but primarily a lot of 60’s STUFF… beat, pop, soul, original r & b, funk, surf, sixties garage, …yeah loads of Beatles, Stones , Who, Small Faces… harking back to me old Mod days back in London… and then moving up to Brit pop stuff; Blur, Oasis, Dodgy, Paul Weller… so I suppose this is where my main passion in music lies although quite open to other genres as my ever growing collection of cds and vinyl will testify… …(bring back the record shop here… if I ever win the lottery I will open one with a cafe attached to it with groovy sofas and space age listening booths… or better still old red telephone boxes for listening to the sounds)…
Now…. spinning the discs at the Club a Go Go as Ringo Stone every Saturday from 5.00 to 7.30 on Monster Radio… so come on down for a swinging mix of hipshakin’ grooves…
