Ever since I was at junior school I wanted to be a Rock Star and once I left school I formed a band, The Fuzzy. I wrote the songs and sang the songs and played guitar…pretty badly looking back.

We got to the finals of local Battle of the Bands Shows… got a good review in Q Magazine as a band to look out for and got good local press too. Unfortunately when we did have a chance of a record deal they wanted us to relocate and work the circuit up North! At the time London was as up North as it got for me and most of the equipment belonged to a band member who didn’t want to take that plunge so that was it.

At the age of 18, I decided to be a Mobile DJ instead. I was holding down a full-time job at the time but as the years went by I was starting to get a good reputation as a Pub, Club and Wedding DJ whilst still dabbling in making music.

I had the chance to learn the ropes at Invicta Radio as well which was (at the time) Kents Biggest Radio Station and come the year 2000 my income was that good that I no longer needed to be doing the ordinary 9-5 job.

So although I was now a father of 3 I decided to go and get a degree in music and technology at Canterbury. That was short-lived after I had a bad accident and spent 6 weeks in Hospital! I then had to learn to walk again and was too far behind to finish my degree and not in the right state of mind mentally and physically to do so.

I was a keen boxer and a good long-distance runner and at the age of 32, was struggling to get my head around a life-changing injury.

I came to Lanzarote in 2002 still limping but the pain was so much easier to deal with and the following January I moved here with my then-wife and 4 kids and a grand in my wallet. Luckily when I arrived UK Away Radio had just begun broadcasting and I was given the opportunity to do a weekend show for them. Within 12 months I was the Station manager and it was a fantastic time.

I was back working in the Clubs as a DJ in Centro Atlantico and life was good. Sadly UK Away Radio folded after roughly 10 years of broadcasting. I went and worked for a couple of stations but it wasn’t quite the same, so, I took a couple of years off from the radio and decided to put on Big Comedy events in Lanzarote.

By this time (2010) I had got divorced and fell in love with a Lady called Lana Van Selman who had recently moved to the Island after having her own TV Show in the UK called Hell to Hotel and we hit it off from the start.

For the next 3 years, we flew in comedians from around the world who had or were all on the TV including Milton Jones. But I was suffering from major burn-out..! I was also working for all the main wedding companies in Lanzarote as a Wedding DJ and often not getting home til 3 or 4 in the morning!

I did a wedding in Puerto Calero for the family of Westlife singer Shane Filan who managed to get all the lads over. And, one for Irish Football legend Robbie Keane. But at the age of 49, I retired from the wedding and club DJ scene after being in it for over 30 years… I got out slightly deaf but otherwise ok.

I have always had a huge passion for Boxing and after building up my own boxing YouTube Channel I was given the opportunity to work for iFL TV. iFL have Europes largest subscribed YouTube channel doing behind the scenes interviews with greats of the sport and suddenly I was flying all over the place covering fight weeks and getting to interview all of my favorite boxers and having free ringside seats.

I don’t do as many as I used to but I do now also look after their FaceBook site and all the content. The reason that doesn’t do quite as much for them is that I had the opportunity to do Live Radio again for Monster Radio and here I am weekdays 10.00 am till 12.00 …and loving every day.
