John Towers

John Towers was born in 1947 and grew up in Battersea, South London moving to the Wimbledon area in 1962. He spent most of his working life, 37 years in fact, as a patrolman with the Automobile Association before taking early retirement in 2006.

Mr & Mrs TWith his keen interest in music and the help of a friend, John became a very successful mobile DJ in 1970, in and around the London area. He intended to retire from DJing in the millennium and go out with a bang but continued on for another couple of years until 2002 .

John and Marianne were married in 1973, will be celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary later this year and have a daughter, a son and seven grandchildren – so far! They first visited the Canary Islands in the nineties and after many holidays, on different islands and in different locations, fell in love with Lanzarote 13 years ago.

As regular listeners to Monster Radio it wasn’t long before John got hooked and with an invitation from Graham James to ‘come along and do a bit’ he did his first show in September 2017 and is now a valued regular presenter. When Marianne joined him on his shows as technical – and everything else! – adviser, they soon became known as Mr & Mrs T. They are both very welcome members of the Monster Radio team and love it!
